European Hair Design didn't start with a business plan. It started with a family.
Anita's parents came to Canada from Bitritto, a small town just outside of Bari in the Puglia region of southern Italy, where craft is passed down through hands, not manuals. Her mother brought that same spirit to Winnipeg, and eventually opened the salon that would become European Hair Design.
Growing up around the salon, Anita absorbed the techniques and the philosophy behind them: that good hair is about how someone feels walking out the door.
Nearly 15 years ago, Anita took over the salon and made it her own. She's kept what matters, the warmth, the precision, the unhurried pace of someone who actually cares about the result, while bringing in the modern European techniques and colour work that have defined the industry over the past decade.
That Italian-European sensibility shows up in the way the salon approaches colour: considered, nuanced, designed to grow out gracefully rather than demand a touch-up every six weeks. It shows up in the cut: structured where it needs to be, soft where it counts. And it shows up in how clients are treated, like people, not appointments.
Thirty-plus years on Pembina Highway. Two generations of the same family. One consistent belief: that a great haircut is one of the small things that makes everyday life a little better.
